Chandler, AZ May 30, 2006 – Bonded Logic, of Chandler, AZ, today announced the donation of eco-friendly UltraTouch denim insulation to be used in the rehabilitation of a historic 19th century building located in the Bronx, NY. This project was collaboration between Bonded Logic Inc, The Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation’s G.I.V.E campaign, and Habitat for Humanity NYC.
On Thursday June 1st, Bonded Logic and Polo volunteers will install UltraTouch denim insulation that was collected through Polo’s “Give Your Jeans a New Home” initiative. This program collected used jeans from celebrities and students alike, covering college campuses throughout the northeast and also including a Polo employee denim drive. Bonded Logic has donated their services to manufacture this material into UltraTouch insulation for use in Habitat for Humanity projects in New York as well as the Hurricane afflicted Gulf Coast.
The Denim Drive, launched in September 2005, collected almost 20,000 pairs of jeans which have been converted into nearly 80,000 ft2 of UltraTouch denim insulation. JBM fibers, of Brownsville, TX, donated their services to clean and shred the raw denim which allowed for Bonded Logic to produce this high performing insulation. The UltraTouch insulation utilized on this project is 100% denim, free of carcinogens and formaldehyde, and more effective than traditional insulations in resisting extreme cold and in providing superior noise reduction.
In addition to the South Bronx project, 60,000 ft2 of UltraTouch denim insulation is being sent to Habitat for Humanity International “Operation Home Delivery” in Canton, Mississippi to assist in the hurricane disaster relief effort. Polo is also partnering with Volunteer Mobile, Alabama through the Points of Light Foundation, to sponsor two homes for families who lost their homes in the Hurricane.
